Bonnie Wasson, CRNP
It is more than likely that if you have visited the Valley Urological Associates Sewickley office, you may have been offered the opportunity to be seen by one of the Valley Urological Associates physician extenders: Richard D. Burns, PA-C; or Bonnie A. Wasson, CRNP. Both Richard and Bonnie have been welcome additions to the Valley Urological practice, and it is important to make sure that each patient understands the role that these two highly- experienced professionals play as part of the Valley Urological patient care team. Bonnie Wasson is a certified registered nurse practitioner with Valley Urological Associates, and joined the team in January 2010. In the healthcare field since 1987, Mrs. Wasson has several nursing degrees, including a Master of Science from LaRoche College, and worked at Sewickley Valley Hospital for 13 years as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and teaching and mentoring nursing students. In 2003 she earned her certification as a nurse practitioner with a special emphasis in family practice. Mrs. Wasson is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
"I am tremendously excited to be a part of the Valley Urological Associates team," said Mrs. Wasson. "I truly enjoy my role as nurse practitioner. My nursing training and my experience teaching patients and nursing students has prepared me well for this important role. It's my goal to make sure patients understand their conditions, their treatment options, and have all of their questions answered before they leave the office. The better informed they are, the more effective we will be in working together to manage their conditions."
Mrs. Wasson lives in Georgetown, Beaver County, with her husband, Jim, and their two children.
